The Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín , in Czech Univerzita Tomáše Bati ve Zlíně , is a Czech university in Zlín . It is named after the Czech industrialist Tomáš Baťa .

The university was established in 2001 from older higher education institutions, in particular the Faculty of Technology, which was founded in 1960 as the Faculty of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava . In 1963 the Faculty of Technology was attached to the Brno University of Technology.
