This area was settled by German immigrants from the Uckermark , mainly from Prenzlau , at the end of the 19th century . The Prenzlau State School , founded in 1894, still exists today with around 30 students and German is still taught, among other things. From 1894 to 1968 there was a post office in Prenzlau.
