Pretty Girl Rock is a song by the US R&B singer Keri Hilson that the artist believes should help women feel more comfortable and confident. The piece was released as the first single from their second album No Boys Allowed . There are also two different remix versions with Kanye West and Lil 'Kim .

Hilson sings Pretty Girl Rock at Germany's Next Topmodel

Keri Hilson sang Pretty Girl Rock for the first time on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on November 22, 2010 . She later sang the song at the 84th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 25, 2010. On December 3, 2010, Hilson sang Pretty Girl Rock at the VH1 Divas Salute the Troops concert. Mawuse Ziegbe from MTV News wrote about the appearance that Hilson was bringing her hot charisma onto the stage. On December 14, 2010, Hilson sang Pretty Girl Rock as a medley with James Blunt's You're Beautiful on the Today Show .

One day before the release of No Boys Allowed sang the song at Hilson Billboards first live tastemakers event in New York City on December 20, 2010. On January 4, 2011 sang Hilson Pretty Girl skirt in Motown style on the show Late Night with David Letterman , Hilson's tribute to Diana Ross and The Supremes . In April 2011, Hilson sang Pretty Girl Rock while performing at the Supafest Festival in Australia. Also in the opening act of Lil Wayne's I Am Still Music Tour in North America in July 2011, where she appeared in the opening act, she performed an interpretation of the song. In Germany, Hilson sang the song live at the finale of Germany's Next Top Model .

Charts

It reached the top 50 of the charts in many countries. In the United States, the song reached number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100. On June 7, 2011, Pretty Girl Rock was awarded a platinum record in the United States for over 1,000,000 units sold. In Canada, Pretty Girl Rock debuted at number 81 on the Canadian Hot 100 , which also remained the highest ranking. In New Zealand the song debuted at number 12 on December 27, 2010 and reached number 11 on January 10, 2011. In New Zealand, the song was also awarded a gold record.

In the UK, the song debuted on January 22, 2011 in the UK singles chart at number 53, before dropping to number 91 the following week. In Austria, the song debuted on June 10, 2011 at number 50 and three weeks later reached number 21, a total of eight weeks in the charts. The song even made its debut in Germany on June 27, 2011 at number 14, which also remained the highest ranking. In total, the song spent ten weeks in the German charts. In Germany, Pretty Girl Rock is Hilson's second most successful single as lead singer after I Like .
