Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish re- impersonate their characters from Pretty Little Liars . The first broadcast took place on March 20, 2019 on Freeform . The German-language broadcast has been on Sixx since August 13, 2020 . The series was discontinued by Freeform on September 27, 2019.

Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal are drawn to Beacon Heights, a city that is not as perfect as it seems. The city is shaped by the successful residents and the elite college . The stress that elite college students endure can make someone lose control and commit murder. Each of the students is under suspicion and it quickly becomes clear that each of the perfectionists has a secret with them.

In November 2014, Marlene King announced that she would be filming the book series The Perfectionists by Sara Shepard as a series. It was later announced that the series would be a sequel to Pretty Little Liars , making it the series' second spin-off after Ravenswood . On September 25, 2017, the broadcaster Freeform ordered a pilot episode of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists . In May 2018, a complete season with 10 episodes was ordered by the broadcaster. On February 5, 2019, it was announced that the series would air on March 20, 2019 on Freeform.
