Prezioso feat. Marvin (also known as Prezioso & Marvin or Marvin & Andrea Prezioso ) is an Italian dance duo from Rome , which became known in autumn 1999 with the title Tell Me Why . In 2007 Giorgio Prezioso left and the former trio became a duo.

history

The group was founded in 1998 and consisted of three members named A. Moschini (stage name: Marvin) and the brothers G. Prezioso and A. Prezioso. In the course of the success of Italian dance musicians in 1999, they advanced to the groups of the millennium , alongside Eiffel 65 , Gigi D'Agostino and Mauro Picotto .

They achieved their greatest successes in Germany and almost all of Europe with their hit Tell me why in autumn 1999. This achieved top 10 placements in many European countries. The follow-up singles Let me stay , Rock The Diskothek & Emergency 911 , as well as the group's first album called Back to Life , which was released in 2000, also achieved good chart positions.

It wasn't until 2001 that Prezioso feat. Marvin took notice again when they released the single Let's Talk about a Man . This again achieved respectable chart positions in Germany. The follow-up single Somebody from 2002 also brought them great success, which allowed them to re-establish themselves as an Italian dance group in Germany. At the same time, the second album, We Rule The Danza , was released in 2002 . This includes the aforementioned singles, Let's Talk about a Man and Somebody .

After that it became quieter for the group. Only publications in Italy followed. These included the singles In my Mind and We Rule The Danza . In 2003, however, the trio landed a summer hit with Voglio Vederti Danzare in Italy . Surprisingly, this single was also released in Germany. However, they had only moderate success with this single.

In 2003 they released their third and first double album, which is mainly a compilation of old songs from the first two albums, some of which have been remixed. The album bears the name of the single of the same name Voglio Vederti Danzare . In addition to this, the album also contains two unknown songs called It's like and Pop goes the world . Although the album was not released in Germany, it could be obtained as an import in some German CD shops and from various internet providers.

This was followed by only two releases in their home country in 2004, called Le Louvre and Right Here Waiting . In 2005 they covered the Kiss classic I Was Made for Lovin 'You in the so-called Tek-House style, which was specially shaped in 2005 by the group Vinylshakerz & Global Deejays and the Italian DJ Benny Benassi . For Prezioso feat. Marvin made a temporary change from her characteristic and original musical design. This was particularly noticeable in the fact that Marvin no longer took over the vocal part in this song and rather participated in the production and design of the song. Incidentally, this song was released under the name Rockin 'Deejays and not under the original name I Was Made for Lovin' You . In addition, the group name changed from Prezioso feat. Marvin in Prezioso & Marvin . This release was hardly successful, especially due to the temporary change in music.

In 2006 the group got back to their roots and released under their old name Prezioso feat. Marvin released the single Survival , which is also available in Germany on various CD compilations in Tune Up! vs. DJ Manian Remix was available. This single even includes a remix by Gabry Ponte .

In 2007 Giorgio Prezioso announced that he would leave the project. It now only consists of Alessandro Moschini alias Marvin and Andrea Prezioso, Giorgio's brother. Following the departure of Giorgio Prezioso, the group renamed itself again to Prezioso & Marvin . The duo's new single is titled Touch me and was released in summer 2007. This is very house-heavy and again shows a change of style, as Marvin no longer takes over the vocals in this song. This was first seen in 2005 on her song Rockin 'Deejays .

As a follow-up single, a remake of their 2001 single Emergency 911 was re-released under the name Emergency 2007 . However, this single cannot be compared with Emergency 911 from 2001, since Emergency 2007, like the previous single Touch me, is to be regarded as very house-heavy and is not held in the typical Italo-Dance style . Then the songs I Believe , The Riddle (both 2010), Alone (2011) and Song 2 (2012) were released. Since then it has become relatively quiet around the band.

style

The music of Prezioso feat. Marvin is held in the typical Italo-Dance style . This is supported by the singing of Marvin. The music is supported by the use of electronic aids (e.g. distorted or suppressed voices). The group makes their recordings in their Time Network Studio # 1 in Brescia (Italy). You are responsible for writing your lyrics. In addition to the production of their own songs, the group also makes remixes for other artists and music groups. One example is the remix of the summer hit Despre Tine by O-Zone in 2004.
