Primo Zeglio (born July 8, 1906 in Buronzo , Vercelli , † October 30, 1984 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

After a small job in 1934, Zeglio began working regularly for film four years later; he wrote screenplays and was employed as an assistant director . Initially commissioned in the 1940s with the staging of some Italian versions of adventure films, he soon specialized in this genre and was a reliable director of such genre goods in the two decades that followed. In the 1960s he also made some spaghetti westerns and crime films.

Zeglio also used the pseudonym Anthony Greepy . In addition to his films, he also devoted himself to painting. He was married to the actress Paola Barbara .

In the continuations of the series of novels " ZBV " by Karl-Herbert Scheer , a character of "Primo Zeglio" is introduced. Scheer immortalized the director of the only Perry Rhodan movie " Perry Rhodan - SOS from Space " (1967) - with not exactly flattering characteristics - in his series because he was appalled by the implementation of the novel.
