source

The Passio of Prisca dates back to the 8th century at the earliest. It was possible that the Prisca of Rome was mixed with Priscilla , Aquila's wife, who is mentioned in Romans and in the 1st letter to the Corinthians , or with another martyr of the 3rd century.

Vita

The tradition According Prisca was at the age of 13 years from the Apostle Peter to Christianity converted and baptized . When Emperor Claudius asked Prisca to offer Apollo the prescribed incense offering, she refused. She was tortured and finally beheaded on the third milestone of the Via Ostiensis outside the city of Rome.

The Roman bishop Eutychianus had her bones transferred in the 3rd century to the church of Santa Prisca on the Aventine , consecrated to her , which was rebuilt in the 12th century by Paschal II . The vessel with which Peter is said to have baptized her is kept as a relic in the crypt there .

There are very few churches with the patronage of saints - the most famous are Santa Prisca in Rome and Santa Prisca in the silver city of Taxco , Mexico .
