Prix ​​Décembre

The Prix ​​Décembre is a French literary prize that has been awarded annually since 1989 for a novel , short story or essay in French. The winner is determined by a twelve-person jury, whose line-up changes regularly, and receives 30,000 euros. In 2018, the endowment amounted to 20,000 euros.

The prize was awarded as the Prix ​​Novembre by patron Philippe Dennery as the anti- Goncourt , d. H. as a non-conformist price for works outside the big market. Dennery, however, withdrew in 1998 because he did not agree to the award to Michel Houellebecq . Pierre Bergé took over the patronage and continued the award as Prix Décembre. It has since been presented at the Hôtel Lutetia .

Among the jurors so far were z. B. Laure Adler , Pierre Bergé, Frédéric Beigbeder , Philippe Sollers , Daniel Schneidermann and Catherine Millet .
