Prix du polar européen
The Prix du polar européen (German: "European Crime Prize" ) is a French literary prize that is awarded every year for the best crime novel by a European author that is available in French. The award was launched in 2003 by the French weekly Le Point .
A jury made up of members of the magazine's editorial team, police officers and prominent crime writers will decide on the winner, who will be honored at the Quais du polar literary festival in Lyon (previously at the Festival du livre in Nice ) in spring . At the first award of the Prix du polar européen, Didier Daeninckx and Dominique Manotti, among others, chose the winner, chaired by the jury president Charles Diaz, who was then General Inspector of the National Police (IGPN). The six finalists, among whom the jury will determine the best European detective novel, are made up of entries fromPublishers , which add up to around 60 to 80 new publications annually.
