Chemical production specialist

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The chemical production specialist has been a state-recognized training occupation in Germany since 2005 in accordance with the Vocational Training Act .

Duration of training and structure

The training period to become a chemical production specialist is usually two years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school . The occupation is designed as a mono occupation and therefore does not have elective qualification units (e.g. chemical technician , chemical laboratory assistant ) like other training occupations in the chemical industry .

History of origin

The occupation replaces the apprenticeship as a young chemical company worker from 1978. The training regulations were outdated - in particular the increasing process control in the plants of the chemical industry was not included.

The social partners define young people as the target group who do not have an entry-level qualification in the three-year apprenticeship as a chemical technician . The job is intended to enable these young people to start dual training . It was the declared goal that, after successfully completing their training, the young people should continue their training as a chemical technician in the second year of training and then take another final examination . The job should close the range of job preparation measures such as “Start in der Beruf” and the chemical technician.

Environmental protection (“ Responsible Care ”) plays a major role in their work.

Intermediate and final exams

A conventional intermediate and final examination takes place in this profession . An extended final examination does not apply. In the course of the reorganization, sample examination tasks were made available, which should represent the requirements and structure.

midterm exam

The intermediate examination should determine the performance level of the trainee. It takes place at the beginning of the second year of training. The trainee carries out process engineering work and works on written tasks from the areas of production technology , maintenance and responsible care.

final exam

The final exam consists of a practical and a written part. The practical part includes the implementation of a manufacturing or processing process. The trainee has seven hours to do this. In addition, he works on written tasks in the areas of process and production technology as well as plant engineering. These examination areas are supplemented by economics and social studies.
