The Pronova BKK (proper spelling pronova BKK ) is a carrier of the statutory health insurance in Germany from the group of company health insurance . Pronova BKK is open nationwide and is based in Ludwigshafen am Rhein .

The BKK has its origins in more than 40 companies, including: BASF , Bayer AG , Boehringer Ingelheim , Continental AG , Deutz AG , Federal Mogul , Ford , Georgsmarienhütte GmbH , Hapag-Lloyd , M. DuMont Schauberg .

Market situation

With over 670,000 insured persons, Pronova BKK is one of the five largest company health insurance funds and one of the 25 largest health insurance companies in Germany. The additional contribution rose to 1.5 percent in 2020.

history

Pronova was created in 2007 from the merger of Bayer BKK and Fortisnova BKKheil & aktiv , which was formed from the BKK of BASF (founded in 1884), the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim and Michelin Reifenwerke. The roots of the oldest forerunner fund go back to 1815.

On January 1st, 2010 Pronova BKK merged with BKK Ford & Rheinland and BKK Goetze & Partner . On July 1, 2010, the merger with the partners' BKK followed . On July 1, 2015, the merger with 'BKK Vaillant ; The name and seat remained unchanged. On January 1, 2017, BKK Braun-Gillette merged into Pronova-BKK, the name and registered office again remain unchanged.
