Prosek (German Prossek ) is a cadastral municipality in the Czech capital Prague . It belongs to the Prague 9 district . A large part of the area is occupied by the large housing estate Prosek, which was built in the 1960s and which also extends into the neighboring area of Střížkov and on the edge of which there is a polyclinic . The old town center today only represents an insignificant proportion of the inhabitants of Prosek.
The area has been connected to metro line C with the Prosek station since 2008 .
history
In the chronicle of Václav Hájek z Libočan the consecration of the church in Prosek dates back to 970, but this statement cannot be verified. The three-aisled Romanesque building dates from the 11th century, which was Gothicized in 1470 . Prosek belonged to the Old Town of Prague until the 17th century , after which it became the property of Libeň . At the beginning of the 20th century, workers from the industrial plants in Vysočany and Libeň settled in the previously sparsely populated place . In 1922 Prosek is incorporated into the Prague city area. Prosek only reached its current dense settlement with the construction of the large prefabricated housing estate in 1964–1971.
