Significant structures

Puchsbaumpark

In the middle of the square is the Puchsbaumpark, a small green oasis in the middle of built-up urban areas. In its center there is an oval meadow, at the edges there are children's playgrounds and relaxation areas. On the side of Puchsbaumgasse there is still a historic urinal in operation, which is now a listed building ( list entry ).

Number 9 branch church to the Holy Family

The most important building on the square, and the most striking because of its unusually high church tower, is the Roman Catholic branch church of the Holy Family (until 2015 it was a parish church). It is located on the north side of the square, at the corner of Puchsbaumgasse and Hausergasse. It was built in 1965/1966 according to plans by the architect Clemens Holzmeister and consecrated on December 8, 1966. The church interior is a hall on four pillars. The altar mosaic was created by Carl Unger , the stations of the cross are by Walter Ritter, the cross is a carving by Oskar E. Höfinger, the angel figures on the tabernacle were created by Heribert Notnagel, the Holy Family in the weekday chapel Margarethe Grill and the mosaic frieze Holy Family Erwin Reisner. The staircase of the high tower connects the floors on Hausergasse, which house the parish office and parish apartment.

Number 14

This simple urban residential building was built in 1929 and is one of the smaller examples of social housing in Red Vienna . The architect was Fritz Reichl .
