Pull Tiger Tail (short: PTT ) was a three-member British indie rock - band from London . It was founded in 2006 and consisted of Marcus Ratcliff, Davo McConville and Jack Hamson. In 2009 the formation separated.

history

Foundation and beginnings

The band was founded in London in spring 2006 by three childhood friends, Marcus Ratcliff, Davo McConville and Jack Hamson , who were already musically active together in changing formations. At that time, the artists, originally from Stratford-upon-Avon , were students at Goldsmiths College, and in February 2006 they first appeared in threes under the name Pull TIger Tail. Further concerts in clubs and pubs followed, which quickly attracted a large audience. In order to stand out from the performances of other rock bands , tiger masks were distributed to the fans every time before they entered the stage.

First singles

On September 25, 2006, seven months after their stage debut, the band's first single, Animator , was released . It was distributed through Young and Lost Club Records, where it was decided to limit the records for sale to 1000 copies. The band then separated from the label and signed a contract with B-Unique Records, which released the second single Mr 100% on December 11, 2006 , which in turn was only available for download. The band also announced a debut album for summer 2007.

In the weeks and months that followed, smaller concerts were played in and around London, but the writing work on the planned album continued. The band released the song Let's Lightning on March 26, 2007 , but announced that the release date of the planned studio album will be postponed indefinitely. Instead, the single Hurricanes was released on June 18, 2007 , with which one could enter the British single charts for the first time. There it reached number 80 and lasted a week. The band then toured.

Debut album and breakup

The debut album Paws. was finally released on August 17, 2009. At that time the atmosphere within the band was already very tense, among other things because there was disagreement about the choice of label and the number of listeners had decreased significantly over the past few years. So the decision was made to split up in autumn. The last release of the band was the only B-sides containing mixtape The Lost World on December 14 of 2009.

After all band members were active in various follow-up projects, for example Hamson temporarily with Noah and the Whale and Friendly Fires , he founded the duo Thumpers in 2012 together with Ratcliff, who had taken his wife's surname - Pepperell - after marriage, the duo Thumpers , which began again in early 2018 dissolved.
