features

Puntigrus navjotsodhii very similar to the known from hunting tiger barb and (so far one of the Tiger barbs Puntius or systomus now puntigrus ). Of all girdled barbs, Puntigrus navjotsodhii has the greatest body height and the widest dark transverse ligaments. The body height is 53.6 to 59.2% of the standard length at the beginning of the dorsal fin. The width of the four transverse ligaments on the sides of the body can be up to five scale lengths. The second and third bands are bent forward near the back. The sideline is complete, relatively straight and only shows a slight bulge in the middle. Dorsal, anal and pelvic fins are triangular, the caudal fin is deeply forked.

The basic color of Puntigrus navjotsodhii is yellowish, the back and top of the head shimmer slightly reddish, the belly is cream-colored.
