Puntsagiyn Shagdarsuren

Puntsagiyn Shagdarsüren ( Mongolian Пунцагийн Шагдарсүрэн ; born October 29, 1918 in Sum Bajan-Öndschüül , Töw-Aimag , Mongolia ; † July 3, 2019 in Ulaanbaatar ) was a diplomat and politician of the Mongolian Revolutionary People's Party between 1958 (MRVP, among others) and 1963 was Foreign Minister of the Mongolian People's Republic .

Life

Shagdarsüren was a member of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MRVP) and was initially ambassador to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea between 1955 and 1956 and then from 1956 to 1958 ambassador to India . In 1958 he returned to Mongolia and took over the post of foreign minister in the government of Prime Minister Yumjaagiin Tsedenbal as the successor to Sonomyn Avarzed , which he initially held temporarily until 1959 and then until his replacement by Mangalyn Dügersüren until 1963.

After other uses, Shagdarsüren was ambassador to the Hungarian People's Republic between 1972 and 1974 and then from 1975 to 1978 ambassador to the GDR . After he was ambassador to the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia between 1978 and 1980 and ambassador to Afghanistan from 1980 to 1982 , he last acted as ambassador to the People's Republic of China between 1982 and 1986 .
