Putz is a village in central Prättigau in the Swiss canton of Graubünden .
The formerly independent municipality has been a department of the political municipality of Luzein since 1892 . The settlement is located on the road from Luzein to Buchen , above the Putzer Stone , which slopes steeply to Landquart , and is divided into the sub-plaster and upper plaster parts , which are towered over by the ruins of Castels .
The place name is derived from the Latin puteus 'pit, shaft, well'.
