Pany is a village in central Prättigau in the Swiss canton of Graubünden .
history
The formerly independent community on Luzeinerberg comprised numerous individual farms and the hamlet of Gadenstätt . Since 1892 it has been the largest department of the Luzein political community .
The village is first mentioned in 1411 as Pynnuew . The field names are predominantly Rhaeto-Romanic and have survived the early modern language change in the region to German after the immigration of the Walsers .
Population and infrastructure
The population of the hillside settlement, which is still heavily influenced by agriculture, was around 560 in 2001. Since 1927, Pany has been served by the Küblis - St. Antönien post bus.
tourism
As a summer and winter holiday resort, Pany is the tourist center of the front and middle Prättigau, with a wide range of holiday apartments / chalets. An alpine swimming pool has been part of the tourist infrastructure since 1930. A ski lift with four ski slopes was added later, along with other winter offers (tobogganing, winter hiking, cross-country skiing, horse-drawn skiing) and summer offers (network of hiking trails, bike routes, Re-Ra-Raetikon adventure hiking trail, etc.). At the end of the 20th century, a Reka holiday village was built. In 2015, the tourism business was handed over to the municipality of Luzein by the Pany-Luzein Tourism Association.
The reformed village church dates from 1705 and is a listed building.
Pany houses the primary school of the Luzein community.
