Pyrinuron is a chemical compound from the group of pyridinyl ureas , which as a rodenticide is effective. Pyrinuron was introduced in 1975 by Rohm and Haas under the trade name Vacor . However, it turned out that the compound had a high selective toxicity for humans - with a significantly lower LD 50 than in the dogs and rhesus monkeys previously tested. Therefore, Pyrinuron was withdrawn from the market in 1979. The connection was never permitted in Europe.

Pyrinuron is a β-cell poison; ingestion leads to type 3 diabetes in humans .
