Pyro One (* 20th century ) is a German rapper.

Life

Musically socialized in the 1990s, first by Ice-T , later by Nas , the Wu-Tang Clan , Dead Prez and comparable groups, but also Deutschrap and Freundeskreis , he founded in 2001 together with MC Ambigu, the two producers Ema and Kameleon as well DJ Boogie Dan the crew Monkey Mob. The album Platten Viertel Takt was self-distributed in 2006. In 2009 the crew followed up with their EP In These Days . During this time Pyro One completed his studies with a state examination.

In 2009 his first solo album Tears of a Harlequin was released on the Twisted Chords label . Most of the beats come from LeijiOne and Beat2.0, with whom he was to work together later. Features on the album include Kobito , Holger Burner and Refpolk .

In 2011 the second album Irrlicht followed , also on Twisted Chords. The album contains a collaboration with Deine Elstern , the project of Kobito and Sookee . In 2012 he founded the collective TickTickBoom together with 20 other hip-hop musicians and took part in their compilation Herzschlag, which was released in 2014 on the Springstoff label .

In 2013 his third album was released from Neverland , on which he worked with the punk band Kaput Krauts . Chris Chaos from this group also played guitar and drums on the album. In 2014 a 7 '' was released together with Refpolk called Uprising of the Backpacks .

A collaboration with Springstoff was originally planned, but it did not materialize. 2016 his most recent album appeared between, on the label Birds Avenue Music from Hamburg.

Music style and lyrics

Right from the start it was assigned to Conscious Rap , which in Germany is often disparagingly called student rap . Another label that has to do with his collaboration with artists from the TickTickBoom collective is the so-called tick rap , a left-wing variant of German-language hip-hop, as played by Neonschwarz among others . However, he sees himself as an MC who is mainly perceived in left-wing contexts, but primarily does hip-hop. He experiments with different styles, including hardcore punk , dubstep , metal and rave influences on his records, and collaborates with bands such as 100blumen and Das Flug .

His lyrics oscillate between thoughtful and rebellious. Very often they are written from a left perspective and address social developments such as the NSU murders or the resurgence of the New Right . His texts are primarily anti-racist and anti- sexist. Due to his proximity to various labels and organizations, he is occasionally assigned to the anti-German spectrum of the left, although he calls this classification as pigeonhole thinking and rejects it himself.
