The Qafa e Muzinës ( German : Muzina pass ) is a mountain pass in southern Albania over the Mali i Gjerë . The pass itself is not very pronounced. On both sides of the pass, the road runs almost in a straight line for two kilometers. On the east side there is then a steep, serpentine descent into the Dropull plain about 350 meters below , which is formed by the Drino River.
The village of Muzina , which bears the same name as the pass, is located around two kilometers west of the pass .
traffic
A connecting road leads over the Qafa Muzinës from Saranda into the Drino valley to the well-developed national road SH 4 . It thus serves as the main connection between Saranda and Gjirokastra . A little west of the top of the pass near the village of Muzina, another road branches off to Delvina . The fast connection to Saranda leads south through the valley of the Bistrica .
Attractions
A few kilometers from the top of the pass lies the karst spring Syri i Kaltër in the valley on the west side , which is a popular excursion destination. This is where the Bistrica rises.
