The Qalschyr ( Kazakh Қалжыр ; Russian Кальжи́р Kaldschir ) is a right tributary of the Black Irtysh (upper reaches of the Irtysh) in Kazakhstan .

The Qalschyr forms the outflow of the Markakol Lake in Eastern Kazakhstan . He leaves it on its west bank. It initially flows in a south-westerly direction, later turning south. He cuts through several mountain ridges. The mountain range of the Kürschim ridge runs north of the river. He passed the two opposite places Tschernjajewka (right) and Schanaaul (left). Eventually the Qalschyr reaches the Black Irtysh river level east of Lake Saissan and splits into two main arms. At the confluence of the Qalschyr in the Black Irtysh are the places Ust-Qalschyr (on the right bank of the river) and Boran (on the left bank).

The Qalschyr has a length of 122 km. Its mean discharge 29 km above the mouth is 20 m³ / s. The catchment area covers 3200 km².
