Qanat Bosymbayev

Qanat Aldabergenuly Bosymbajew ( Kazakh Қанат Алдабергенұлы Бозымбаев , Russian Канат Алдабергенович Бозумбаев Kanat Aldabergenowitsch Bosumbajew * 8. January 1969 in Alma-Ata , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician. He was Kazakhstan's Energy Minister from 2016 to 2019.

Life

Qanat Bosymbayev graduated from the State Institute of Economics in 1993 .

He began his professional career in a company before becoming assistant to the Äkim (governor) of Almaty in 1994. In 1997 he worked briefly again for a private company and was then head of the regional policy department of the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Kazakhstan. From 1997 to 1998 he was head of the general finance department and vice-president for economic affairs of the state oil company KazTransOil . Between August 1998 and March 2000 he was Director of the Oil and Gas Department of the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Trade and then Deputy Minister of Energy, Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan until December of that year.

In the next few years he held various positions in Kazakh state companies. From January 2001 to August 2007 he was President of KEGOC , in 2007 Chairman of the Board of Air Astana , from November 2007 to November 2008 Temir Scholy Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan , between August and October 2008 Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas and until November 2009 Chairman of the Board of KEGOC. On November 30, 2009, he was appointed Akim of the Shambyl region . From December 20, 2013, he was Akim of the Pavlodar region . Since March 25, 2016, he was in the cabinet of Kärim Mässimow , under his successor Baqytschan Saghyntajew and also in the cabinet of Asqar Mamin, Kazakhstan's Energy Minister. On December 18, 2019, he was dismissed from his ministerial post.

Bosymbayev has been assistant to the Kazakh President since December 18, 2019.

Qanat Bosymbajew is married and has three children, a son and two daughters.
