The Stoličná hora (also Kvádrovec, Kvádrberk , German: Quaderberg ) is a table mountain near Děčín ( Tetschen ) in Bohemian Switzerland .
Location and surroundings
The Stoličná hora rises immediately north of the town of Děčín. The western flank of the mountain extends down to the Elbe , which here on the Stoličná hora enters its deeply cut narrow valley through the Elbe sandstone mountains . To the north the mountain is bounded by the arbor canyon, in which the Loubsky potok, coming from Ludvíkovice ( Loosdorf ), falls down to the Elbe.
Is located on the south side of the mountain plateau a viewpoint of a Kaiser view is known (Císařský výhled). The small, belonging to Decin village is situated on the Elbe, below the steep down-range, rocky mountain slope Loubi ( arbor ), and the extensive facilities of the Elbhafens Loubi. In the Quaderbergtunnel the track of the former Austrian Northwest Railway in the section Děčín vychod – Děčín- Prostřední Žleb crosses the south-western flank of the mountain.
history
The first hikes on the Quaderberg are mentioned as early as 1828. The Leopoldshöhe got its name during the development of the mountain in 1864 by Leopold Strnad . The first restoration took place here in 1870. The silver wedding anniversary of the Austrian imperial couple in 1879 was the reason to erect a sandstone pillar on the south view and to call this place from then on the imperial view. In 1890 the Elbwarte pavilion was built. A resting place from 1900 was called Karolinenfels. After 1945 the restaurant was demolished.
view
From the Kaiser vantage point there is a beautiful view over the Děčín valley basin to the heights of the nearby Bohemian Uplands . The Kaiserblick is one of the most beautiful views in Bohemian Switzerland.
Paths to the summit
- The red marked main hiking trail of Bohemian Switzerland leads over the Quaderberg , which, coming from Děčín, continues over the Rosenkamm to Hřensko ( Herrnskretschen ).
