The Quadfeldmühlbach is a 8.82 km long branch of the rain in the district of Cham in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria . The Quadfeldmühlbach is not an actual creek, but a branch of the rain. Its source is therefore not a real source, but a branch of the rain at a weir. However, the Quadfeldmühlbach has existed since at least the 19th century. It was probably originally laid out as a mill stream for the Quadfeldmühle mentioned in 1838. It flows over its entire length of almost 9 km in numerous meanders through the plain south of Cham before it reunites with the rain.

course

The Quadfeldmühlbach begins at a weir south of Altenstadt, where the Chamb flows into the rain. It branches off to the left from the rain and flows in a south-westerly direction along the northern edge of the Piedendorfer Weide. It crosses under the B 22 , flows along a gravel pit and reaches the eponymous Quadfeldmühle. South of the Quadfeldmühle he reaches the Janahof district. The Haidbach flows here from the left. The Quadfeldmühlbach passes Janahof on its northern edge. It meanders through the alder meadow in arches extending far north and passes the eastern edge of Altenmarkt with the listed monastery mill. Now the Quadfeldmühlbach flows between Mönchsweiher, Anger and Auf der Alten in the west and Im Großer Gesellen and Im Kleine Gesellen in the east, meandering strongly to the north. From the left it takes two brooks coming from the wet meadows of the Mönchsweiher. To the northeast of Michelsdorf in the Loiblinger Au it reunites with the rain.

Tributaries

On its entire course, the Quadfeldmühlbach crosses a flat area of wet meadows with almost no gradient, from which seepage water, drainage ditches and smaller and larger streams flow in from both sides. The only named tributary is the Haidbach, which flows into the Quadfeldmühlbach from the left on the northern edge of Janahof.
