Queer Lisboa

Queer Lisboa is a gay and lesbian film festival in Lisbon that takes place every September at the Cinema São Jorge .

history

It is the oldest film festival in Lisbon and the only festival of gay and lesbian film in Portugal . It was established in 1997.

In 2011, 8,000 spectators attended the festival, which screened 84 films from 30 countries over nine days.

Competitions

  • Best feature film (best film 1,000 euros, best actress, best actor)
  • Best Documentary (Prize of RTP2 3,000 euros)
  • Best short film (audience award 500 euros)

In addition, films in various categories are shown outside of the competition, such as "Queer Art" for films with art themes, "Queer Pop" for video clips and music documentaries, or the "Noites Hard" ("Hard Nights") for films on The edge of what can be shown in the realm of sexuality.
