Quirin from Hohnstedt
Quirin Baron von Hohnstedt (* 1640 , † 1699 ) was a major general in Brandenburg , Lord of Sulzau, Weitenburg and Erdeborn.
Life
His parents were Quirin Liebrich von Hohnstedt, heir to Blankenburg and Erdeborn, and his wife Barbara, née von Peusten. She was the daughter of the castle captain Karl von Peusten.
Hohnstedt was in the Swedish service and on September 8, 1683 became a colonel and chief of the 2nd Swedish District Regiment on horseback. In 1690 he changed to Kurbrandenburg services and died there in 1699.
He married Maria Magdalena Streiff von Loewenstein , daughter of General Hans Jürgen Freiherr Streiff von Löwenstein . The couple had a daughter Juliane who was married to General Jean Quirin de Forcade . His son Eberhard Wilhelm was a district administrator in the Beeskow-Storkow district and married to Charlotte Christine von Einbeck.
