The Río Castro is an approximately 25 kilometers long right tributary of the Río Tera in the Spanish province of Zamora .

The source of the Río Castro is located in the south of the Montes de León in the northwest of the province of Zamora in the area of the municipality of Requejo de Sanabria . After heavier rains, the river's origin shifts up to two kilometers to the northwest. The Río Castro flows in an easterly direction and flows into the Río Tera after only about 25 kilometers at Puebla de Sanabria . The river has no tributaries worth mentioning and is not dammed.

Attractions
The main attraction on the Río Castro is the village center of the small town of Puebla de Sanabria, classified as Conjunto histórico-artístico , with its medieval-style streets, the castle of the Counts of Benavente and the church of Nuestra Señora del Azogue .
