The Río Isiboro is a left tributary of the Río Mamoré in the lowlands of the South American landlocked state Bolivia .

The isiboro river rises in the Kordillere Cochabamba in Departamento Cochabamba at an altitude of 1360  m at 16 ° 44 '3 "  S , 65 ° 56' 51"  W . From its source, the Río Isiboro flows for the first 40 km in a south-easterly direction in the direction of the Cordillera from Cochabamba to 16 ° 49 '44 "  S , 65 ° 48' 9"  W and then turns to the northeast. At 15 ° 48 ′ 33 ″  S , 65 ° 48 ′ 9 ″  W , the river leaves the Departamento Cochabamba and enters the Departamento Beni . After another 174 km the river flows into the Río Mamoré at an altitude of 155  m at 15 ° 13 ′ 33 ″  S , 64 ° 56 ′ 2 ″  W.

Nature reserve

The Río Isiboro represents the southern border of the TIPNIS nature reserve , between the mountain range of the Cordillera of Cochabamba in the southwest and the confluence of the Río Sécure with the Isiboro in the northeast.
