Rüdiger Helm (born October 6, 1956 in Neubrandenburg ) is a former German canoeist who won three Olympic gold medals for the GDR.

At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal , he won bronze in canoe racing in a four-person kayak (K4) over 1000 m and over 500 m in a single kayak (K1). In the K1 over 1000 m he won the gold medal .

At the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow , he won bronze over 500 m in K4 and two gold medals in K1 over 1000 m and K4 over 1000 m.

In the spring of 2009 he worked briefly as the national coach of the dragon boat national team of the German Canoe Association .
