Knut Holmann (born July 31, 1968 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian canoeist and Olympic champion .

Holmann celebrated his first international success at the 1990 World Cup in Poznań . There he won the gold medal in the kayak single over 1000 m. At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona he won silver (over 1000 m) and bronze (over 500 m). At the World Championships in Paris that same year he achieved gold over 1000 m and silver over 500 m. In 1993 at the World Championships in Copenhagen he was able to win the gold medal over 1000 m and the silver medal over 10,000 m again. At the 1994 World Championships in Mexico City , he could not repeat his successes and only won the bronze medal over 500 m and 1000 m. A year later, just in time for the 1995 World Cup in Duisburg, he got back to his old form and won the gold medal again over 1000 m. He won silver over 500 m. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , he won the gold medal in the kayak- one (K1) over 1000 m in a time of 3: 25.78 minutes ahead of the Italian Beniamino Bonomi . In addition to his gold medal there was also the silver medal in the kayak single (K1) over 500 m behind the Italian Antonio Rossi . At the 1997 World Championships in Dartmouth , he had to be satisfied with a bronze medal over 500 m in one. A year later in Szeged he won silver in the 1000 m world championship. In addition, he was used there in the foursome and won the bronze medal with this over 200 m. At the 1999 World Championships in Milan , he won silver again over 1000 m in single. At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney , he won the double, gold over 500 m and over 1000 m.

In 1993 he was honored with the Morgenbladet Foundation Gold Medal. In 1996 he won the Fearnleys olympiske ærespris .
