Rüdiger von der Weth

Rüdiger von der Weth (* 1960 in Coburg ) is a German psychologist and professor at the Dresden University of Applied Sciences .

life and work

Rüdiger von der Weth studied psychology at the TU Berlin . The main focus of the study was industrial psychology , in particular the field of the effects of computer technology in work and leisure. In 1985 he successfully completed his studies with the thesis "Motives and psychological effects of dealing with home computers". He did his doctorate at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg under Dietrich Dörner . His dissertation from 1989 with the title "Target formation in the organization of trade" was published in 1990 by the Peter Lang publishing house , Frankfurt am Main . At the Technical University of Dresden , he completed his habilitation with his thesis on "Complexity and work - How designers and managers deal with complex problems and how they can be supported" at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, specializing in psychology.

From 2000 to 2003 he worked at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences as a professor in the field of industrial psychology - human resources management. In 2003 he was appointed professor in the field of business administration , human resource management and ergonomics at the Dresden University of Technology and Economics and currently holds the position of research officer at the Faculty of Economics .

Research Group - Human Factors and Resources

As part of his research, he founded the Human Factors and Resources research group at HTW Dresden in 2017 together with Anne-Kathrin Haubold . The main research areas are applied research on the changing role of people in working life. The focus of interest is on demographic change and the design of technical and organizational innovations in the context of digitization . The research projects on demographic change deal with the question of how healthy aging at work and the compatibility of work and private care tasks can be promoted by human resource management . When researching current changes, the focus is on the design of innovation networks, on cooperation in international projects and on long-term organizational development processes in the context of the energy transition . In this context, he and his employees deal with personnel development , the development of qualification programs, as well as methods and technology that help control complex projects and organizational development. To this end, the research group develops theoretical principles, methods and tools.
