Răzvan Neculaie Pleşca (born November 25, 1982 in Arad ) is a Romanian football player on the position of goalkeeper . He has been under contract with Gaz Metan Mediaș since summer 2010 .

Career

After his youth in his hometown Arad, Pleşca moved to the second team of FC Național Bucharest in 2000 . In 2003 he came as a substitute goalkeeper in the squad of the first team that played in Divizia A at the time . After his debut on August 31, 2003, he did not play for two years. He left the club in the summer of 2005 to Politehnica Iași . There, too, he was initially deputy to Traian Marc and Cristian Brăneț . It was only in the 2008/09 season that he became a regular in goal. Then he had to move back into the second rank and left Iași after relegation in 2010 to Gaz Metan Mediaș . Here he was number one in goal from the start and qualified with his team for the Europa League at the end of the 2010/11 season . There he secured his team's progress in the second qualifying round against 1. FSV Mainz 05 with two saved penalties in a penalty shoot-out . In the following seasons Pleşca fought with Gaz Metan always to stay in the class. After relegation in 2015 , he moved to league rivals FC Botoșani for a year on loan . There, as the deputy of Plamen Iliew, was initially only second choice, became the new number one on the 18th matchday, before he had to stand back on the 30th matchday. In the summer of 2016 he returned to Gaz Metan, who meanwhile played first class again.
