history

In Lauterbach , a place in the Rottweil district in the Black Forest , David Moosmann, Fritz Schmid, Lukas Haberstroh, Paul Haberstroh, Willi Oehler and a Mr. Mauch founded the cycling club “Blitz” Lauterbach in 1899. The club developed at the beginning of the twentieth Century quickly. The club took part in many parades and street races. The sport of cycling was able to record for the restricted conditions this time and in the province considerable success: Viktor and Willi Neff, Karl and Robert Moosmann, Josef Haberstroh, Leo Oehler and Hugo Moosmann first achieved nationwide success of the cycling club. The greatest successes at that time were the four-time achievement of the Black Forest Association Championship in four-team driving . At around this time, indoor cycling began in Lauterbach . Initially, only artificial cycling was on the program. During the time of National Socialism and the Second World War , many members were at war, but the club's operations were maintained. In 1940 the association had 80 members.

There were already youth cycling games in 1944, and another indoor cycling event in 1947. In 1948 Karl Buchholz and Lothar Zink became youth zone champions. Since the French military government had banned the operation of individual clubs, the “Blitz” was called “VFB” from 1945 to approx. 1949. The club was able to open its own racetrack on July 25, 1949 .
