History and etymology

The place first appeared in 1446 as Raßmesdorff and could be derived from a person Raßmann or Erasmus . Heinrich Berghaus described in his Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg and the Markgrafthum Nieder-Lausik that the place belonged "from old" to the von der Marwitz family. The place name changed in the following centuries to Ratzmannsdorf (1490), Raßmanßdurff (1496), Raszmeszdorff (1514), Raßmisdorff (1652), Rasmendorf (1663), Rusdorf (1750), Rasdorf or Raasmannsdorf (1775) as well as Rasmannsdorf or Rasdorf ( 1805). The settlement is listed as Rastmansdorff in the Schmettauschen map series from 1767 to 1787 . In 1805 the place appeared as Rasmannsdorf in the work Statistical-Topographical Description of the entire Mark Brandenburg. Second volume. Containing the Mittelmark and Ukermark . Friedrich Wilhelm Bratring stated in his work that there were a total of 12 fireplaces in the village and estate, and 92 people farmed a total of 92 Hufen . Six Kötter , a Büdner and six residents lived in the village . There was also a pitcher . Raßmannsdorf never had its own church, but was parish after Sauen . In 1863 the community had to pay 20 thalers and the estate 85 thalers in taxes. In 1871 Rassmannsdorf had 98 residents who managed eleven residential buildings. With effect from April 1, 1938, Raßmannsdorf was incorporated into Neubrück and, during the GDR era, on July 1, 1950, came to the new community of Neubrück (Spree).
