Raúl González Tuñón
Raúl González Tuñón (born March 29, 1905 in Buenos Aires , † August 14, 1974 there ) was an Argentine journalist and writer.
Life
González Tuñón came from an old Argentine family; the writer Enrique González Tuñón was his older brother. After his first literary attempts he started as a freelancer for the daily newspaper " Clarín "; later he was also part of the editorial team.
González Tuñón went on an extensive trip to Europe and also lived for some time in Madrid and Paris . After his return home he also wrote for the newspaper “Crítica”. During the Chaco War (1932-1935) he reported as a war correspondent and in this capacity he was also sent to Spain in 1936. There he reported from the civil war until 1939 .
He was friends with Rafael Alberti , Robert Desnos , Federico García Lorca , Miguel Hernández , Pablo Neruda , César Vallejo and is considered a typical representative of Vanguardia in literary terms .
González Tuñón died in Buenos Aires in August 1974 at the age of 69 and found his final resting place there.
