Raduner Rothorn

The Radüner Rothorn ( 3,022  m above sea level ) is a peak in the Albula Alps south of the Flüela pass . The mountain forms a corner of the ridge, which the Dischmatal the east by Flüelatal separates the West. Just under 1½ kilometers north of the Radüner Rothorn is the higher Flüela Schwarzhorn ( 3146  m above sea level ), the northernmost three-thousand-meter peak in the Albula Alps.

The Radüner Rothorn is separated from the Flüela Schwarzhorn by the Schwarzhornfurgga ( 2880  m above sea level ). A little south of the Radüner Rothorn, the ridge curves to the west, descends in the Rothornfurgga to 2,884 m, before the Radüner Chopf ( 3,020  m above sea level ) and the Piz Radönt ( 3,065  m above sea level ) rise up in this ridge . Furggasee and Fuorcla da Grialetsch are located south of these summit points , a transition between Dischmatal and Val Grialetsch, which leads north to the Flüla pass road .

Routes

Usually the Radüner Rothorn is climbed as an encore as part of an ascent of the Flüela Schwarzhorn. Here you branch off from the marked ascent path to the Schwarzhorn in a hollow about 100 meters below the Schwarzhornfurrga. From there it goes pathless in a south-westerly direction, over rough-block terrain and past two small lakes to the northern flank of the Rothorn. Now you can reach the summit more or less directly over the north ridge of the Rothorn ( I ). Alternatively, you can first orientate yourself to the west and, remaining in the deepest depressions, circle the summit in order to reach the summit from the west and finally from the south.

Alternatively, the Radüner Rothorn can also be reached from the Grialetschhütte ( Chamanna da Grialetsch , 2542  m above sea level ) via the Rothornfurgga and the south ridge.

The Radüner Rothorn is also suitable as a ski tour .
