history

The Grialetschhütte was built in 1928 thanks to a donation from the textile merchant, collector and veteran member Otto Fischbacher of the St. Gallen section of the SAC.

Until October 31, 2018, the hut belonged to the St. Gallen Section. For various reasons, the decision was made to sell to the Davos section.

Origin of name

The name Grialetsch comes from the Latin word gregaricium for sheep alp , a derivation of the Latin word grex for herd .
