Journalism

Rafael Hüntelmann founded Ontos Verlag für Philosophie in 2003 . When this was taken over by the Walter de Gruyter publishing group in 2013 , he remained the head of the publishing program. The publishing house editiones scholasticae , founded in 2011, is still run by him today. He is also the publisher and editor-in-chief of the magazine Civitas (discontinued at the end of 2015), which is distributed by the institute itself, as well as the philosophical journal Metaphysica . Hüntelmann was also the author of the Philosophical Yearbook and the journals peculiarly free and Junge Freiheit .

criticism

In a request to the German federal government in 2010, Volker Beck and the members of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group criticized the Pius Brotherhood for what they thought were anti-constitutional statements. These were documented in a 2007 issue of the magazine Civitas for which Hüntelmann was responsible. Here he and Franz Schmidberger had outlined the principles of a Christian social order . The federal government could not see any anti-constitutional behavior. Nevertheless, Schmidberger's lawsuit against the green district councilor Max Burger from Rottweil was dropped. He had also addressed the texts. Political scientist Gerd Langguth also expressed himself about what he believed to be a "clearly anti-plural and anti-freedom understanding" of the Pius brothers.
