The brig Rah Naward is a sailing training ship of the Pakistani Navy. In 2001 she was commissioned as Prince William for the Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) and sold to the Pakistani Navy in 2010 .

history

The ship was taken over in 1997 by TSYT from an unfinished project from Germany to serve as one of two commission by TSYT tall ships to be brought into the service. At that time, the hull was planned for use as a cruise ship with two masts and sails that were designed more as a backdrop than for serious use. At the Appledore Shipbuilders shipyard in North Devon , the shell was fitted out and completed as a brig according to the client's ideas. To improve the sailing characteristics, a 50-ton ballast keel was installed, and the rig of the two-masted ship, sixty meters long and ten meters wide, was designed by Michael Willoughby.

Prince William completed the last voyage as a TSYT ship in 2007. That year, the board decided to sell the ship. She was first in the Naval Base Portsmouth and later in Kingston upon Hull launched . On September 20, 2010, the Pakistani Navy acquired the ship, renamed it Rah Naward and put it back into service.
