Framework collective agreement for the employees of the Deutsche Reichsbahn

The RKV DR was a collective agreement between the trade union responsible for the railway and the Deutsche Reichsbahn in the GDR . It was valid from 1951 to 1990 and saw numerous changes.

Collective bargaining parties

The first RKV DR dates from 1951, concluded between the general management of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the central board of the railway industrial union.

On May 20, 1960, the new version of the RKV DR was concluded between the two tariff parties (registration number 40/60, provenance : Committee for Work and Wages, later Ministry of Transport (MfV), 1954–1990 organizational unit: work and wages).

In 1963, IG Eisenbahn became part of the transport and communications industry union within the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) .

On July 27, 1978, the IG Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Transport of the GDR signed the reprint of the RKV DR in the version of the 43rd amendment of July 22, 1978 (tariff register no. 203/78).

Subordinate to the RKV, the company collective agreements (BKV) were concluded between the department or works manager and the works union management (BGL) in the companies and offices of the Deutsche Reichsbahn .

The RKV and the subordinate BKV in labor law of the GDR are not to be equated with a general collective agreement and subordinate collective agreements because of the labor law and political differences between the opposing systems of the socialist planned economy and the free market economy in the federal German collective bargaining structure .

Content in the version of the 43rd addendum

scope

The RKV applied to all employees of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in employment law or vocational training.

The RKV in the version of the 43rd amendment did not apply to employees and trainees of the DR residing in West Berlin and in the following special departments, companies and institutions belonging to the DR:

Protocol declarations (selection)

  • Protocol declaration on local class regulation in the Greater Berlin district of June 4, 1952 was repealed with the 43rd amendment
  • Protocol declaration on the payment of compensation payments in Greater Berlin of June 11, 1951 was repealed with the 43rd addendum
  • Protocol No. 4 no longer applies to the employees named in Part I of the 42nd Supplement of July 27, 1978.
