The Ministry of Transport was a ministry in the Council of Ministers of the GDR . It emerged from the main traffic administration of the German Economic Commission formed in June 1948. The first Minister for Transport was the non-party Hans Reingruber . As early as August 1945 there was a central administration for transport in the Soviet occupation zone. It acted in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior , the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and the Deutsche Reichsbahn .
