Raimund Berger

Raimund Berger (born March 31, 1917 in Hall in Tirol ; † January 21, 1954 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian writer .

Life

Berger was considered one of the most talented dramatists of the younger generation after the Second World War . An accident in 1932 shaped the rest of his life as he was under constant medical treatment from then on. Numerous hospital stays followed, during which Berger began to write dramas. He was discovered and promoted by Hans Pacher, who ran the Ring-Studio in Innsbruck with Traute Foresti . For him they founded a stage publishing house, in which many of his plays were printed, and in 1949 they staged the lyrical sequence of scenes paper flower spring . In 1951, the premiere of his play Zeitgenossen in Graz received the State Prize for Theater Directors. Hans Weigel , who brought Berger to his regulars' table in Cafe Raimund, pointed out Berger's pieces while he was still alive. In 1952, Raimund Berger worked as an audio game editor for the state broadcaster Tyrol and married in the same year. For the play Die Ballade vom Nackten Mann he received the 2nd prize in the competition for young authors.

Raimund Berger died on January 21, 1954 in Innsbruck. The grave speech was delivered by Ludwig von Ficker .
