Rain Diary is a Finnish gothic rock band.

history

The band was founded in Tampere in 2007 by Tommi Suomala, Joni Bitter, Teemu Rantanen, Topi Kapulainen and Tytti Toppari. The following year the EP A Song of Mellow Weep and the video It's Only Rain were produced. After initial chart successes, the production of the debut album The Lights Are Violant Here began in 2009 . The years 2010/11 were marked by reshuffles. Kapulainen left the band and Teemu Alajoki took over the drums.

In 2013 the band signed to Secret Entertainment and their first album was 7th in the Top 10 of the Finnish Official Independent Record Store Sales Charts. Later even 1st place in the Alternative New Album Charts category.

Rain Diary played in Tallinn in March 2014 and toured Germany in September of the same year. After another line-up, the drummer changed again in 2016 and in 2017 the single Berlin from the second album Black Weddings was released in advance . The release concert took place at the Reeperbahn Festival 2017 in Hamburg .

In the spring of 2018, the band was then touring Europe in the opening act for Vlad in Tears , u. A. in Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
