Vlad in Tears is a dark rock / metal band from Berlin, founded in Italy in 2007 .

history

Vlad in Tears was founded in 2007 by three brothers Kris (vocals, piano), Lex (guitar) and Dario (bass) and Alex (drums), their childhood best friend, in Cassino (Lazio) (Italy). The band from Italy first tried a few cover songs, but quickly went on to create their very own, dark sound. This decision was enthusiastically received by her rapidly growing fan base.

With their first own pieces they soon appeared in Italy, Austria, Switzerland and in the former Yugoslavia (today Serbia-Montenegro). Shortly thereafter, they recorded their first demo, After the End , which contained ten tracks.

In 2008, the ten-track debut album Seed of an Ancient Pain was released under the Aural Music label , with which Vlad in Tears was particularly popular in the Gothic scene. Not even a year later they already recorded the EP Pact with the Night .

In 2010, Rough Trade released their second LP Underskin , which was produced by John Fryer (including HIM ), who traveled to Italy for a month for the trial. After the release, the "Forbidden" tour through Germany followed.

At the end of 2011, the concept album Welcome to Vladyland was finally released , with which Vlad in Tears then played their “Night in Vladyland” tour in 2012. After the tour the EP of the same name was released which u. a. includes a live song of her performance at the Echozone Darkrock Festival.

The year 2012 saw the first phase of reorientation for Vlad in Tears. Lex and Alex had to leave the band. The band used this change to reinvent itself. They remembered the essence of Vlad in Tears and went back to their roots.

This new beginning was due not least to Kris' and Dario's move to Berlin in 2013 as well as newcomer Cosmo Cadar from Romania, who took the position of drummer from that point on.

The band played an acoustic concert with the Berlin string orchestra BSO in theARTer Gallery in Berlin in June 2013. Another acoustic concert followed two months later in Remscheid.

The following autumn, Vlad in Tears was on tour as the opening act for bands like Stahlmann , Hämatom and Unzucht . An acoustic tour followed in December 2013, this time as a headliner. During January 2014, the band again accompanied Unzucht on the second part of their Rosicrucian tour, before there was another personnel change shortly afterwards and Gregor Friday, an exceptional Australian talent, took over the role of guitarist.

In this constellation, Vlad in Tears started a successful and exciting year 2014. In spring they signed a record deal with ZYX Music and on August 22nd, 2014 the fourth studio album Vlad in Tears was released. Several concerts followed before Vlad in Tears supported Mono Inc. on their The Clock Ticks On tour in October . This was followed by appearances in Great Britain , where the band u. a. played in Glasgow and Liverpool .

At the end of 2016 the guitarist Gregor Friday left the band for personal reasons, whereupon Ilia Ioffe was announced as the new guitarist in early 2017.
