Infrastructure
Aurizon operates and manages a 2,670 km long rail network for heavy goods traffic , the " Central Queensland Coal Network " (CQCN). This consists of four large sub-networks:
Moura system
The Moura System is linked to the Blackwater System. It is located in central Queensland, southwest of Gladstone. The system serves the industrial and rural communities of the Dawson and Callide Valleys.
Blackwater system
The blackwater system is the largest of the four coal systems and handles the second highest transport volume. It is located in central Queensland and serves the Bowen Basin .
Goonyella system
The Goonyella system is located in Central Queensland and serves the Bowen Basin. It carries the coal to the Hay Point Coal Terminal and Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal.
Newlands system
The Newlands System is located at the northern end of the Bowen Basin in northern Queensland. It contains part of the North Coast Line between Durroburra and Kaili, as well as the line to Abbot Point Harbor .
