history
Stockland was founded in 1952 by Albert Scheinberg and Ervin Graf. In 1957, Stockland was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and acquired a majority stake in Simon Hickey Industries Ltd. In the same year, Stockland's operations became more diversified and moved into commercial development, initially with retail projects in Sydney suburbs. In 1965, Stockland opened its first major commercial development - the redeveloped Imperial Arcade in Sydney's business district, which provided the first subway connection to the area, to four retail floors and six office floors.
