Treasury Wine Estates is an Australian wine producer and retailer, one of the largest in the world.

Many well-known wineries and wine brands belong to the group, including Penfolds and Wolf Blass . The company has regional offices in California , Singapore and near London ; the acreage is also in New Zealand and in the Napa Valley AVA . In addition to the renowned branded wines, Treasury Wine also produces bulk wine .

The company was formed in 2011 when the beverage company Foster's Group decided to divest its wine division, mainly due to its significant losses in the United States. In May of that year, TWE was listed on the Australian stock exchange.

From the end of 2013, the holding companies KKR / Rhône Capital and TPG Capital offered ever higher sums of billions for a takeover in a competition, but negotiations ended in September 2014 without any result. In the fourth quarter of 2015, TWE took over most of the UK and US wine divisions from Diageo .
