Rainer Aigner (born September 4, 1967 in Eggenfelden ) is a former German football player .
Career
At the age of 17, Aigner left his youth club SSV Wurmannsquick from the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn and moved to the youth department of TSV 1860 Munich for the A-Juniors . At the age of 18 he moved up to the first team and played in four seasons, until the end of the 1989 season, 80 league games in the third-rate amateur league Bayern and scored four goals.
He then moved to city rivals FC Bayern Munich and played 50 league games in two seasons and scored two goals for their amateur team . In 1990 he won the national cup with the selection team of the Bavarian State Association against the selection team of the Hessian State Association .
For the 1990/91 season, Aigner moved up to the professional team and played his only Bundesliga game for Bayern on May 25, 1991 (31st matchday), in a 7-3 win at home against Hertha BSC over 90 minutes .
For the 1991/92 season he moved to league rivals Fortuna Düsseldorf , played 16 Bundesliga games and at the end of the season rose as 20th and bottom of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga . His first professional goal in 34 second division games he succeeded on December 5, 1992 (24th matchday) in a 2-1 win in the away game against Chemnitzer FC with the winning goal in the 24th minute.
His professional career ended on June 6, 1993 (46th matchday) with the 1: 2 defeat in the home game against VfL Wolfsburg and relegation to the Oberliga Nordrhein . In this he completed the 1993/94 season for the Düsseldorf team and contributed with three goals in 29 league games to the league championship and promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.
After that he was active again for three seasons, until 1997 , for Bayern's second team , now in the Regionalliga Süd . After a final season for the football department of SC Baldham-Vaterstetten , he finally ended his football career in 1998.
Others
After his active career, Aigner worked as a motivational speaker for managers.
He is currently managing director of the real estate company Immo Works Management GmbH in Munich.
