Rainer Albert

Rainer Albert (born July 4, 1949 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German teacher and numismatist .

Rainer Albert studied history and German. He was born in 1980 at the University of Mannheim with the work “The image of Augustus on the early imperial coins. Studies on the Deification of the First Principle " for Dr. phil. PhD . Until his retirement in August 2012, Albert was a member of the extended school management at the Staatliche Speyer-Kolleg as Director of Studies . He taught history and German.

He was able to apply his numismatic knowledge to the construction of the Numismatic Library in Speyer from 1980 to 1988. Rainer Albert has been chairman of the Speyer Numismatic Society since 1988. From 1989 to 1995 he was also President of the German Numismatic Society . Since 1996, the connoisseur and collector of Roman coins has been editor-in-chief of the Numismatic News Gazette (NNB), for which he has been editor since 1977. He is the author of numerous numismatic publications, in particular on medals , ancient and Palatine numismatics. For his services and his voluntary work in the German Numismatic Society, Rainer Albert was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 2003 awarded.
